computers and software Get the Classic Start Menu back in Windows 7Windows 7 is an amazing operating system and there are millions of have users already. There is one feature which seems to have vanished, the Classic Start Menu.

Now I am not to bothered about this as I am happy with the newer style Start Menu, but for the people who miss it I have put together a solution which should make you happy.

The programs we are going to use to bring the Classic Start Menu back for you is CSMenu and Start Killer Once you have these setup you will be sorted. The best thing is its actually quite easy to do.

Installing CSMenu

  • Download and Install the latest CSMenu, you can get it from here.
  • Once installed pin CSMenu Launcher to the taskbar.
  • Once pinned to the taskbar run CSMenu First Run.
  • Now add a shortcut to CSMenu in the Startup folder, this will ensure it runs every time you load Windows 7.

That’s it, you now have the classic start menu. The next step is to hide the Windows 7 Start Button.

Installing Start Killer

  • Download and Install the latest Start Killer, you can get it from here.
  • Once Installed load Start Killer and make sure all 3 tick boxes are ticked and click ok.
  • You may have to restart your computer to make the start button disappear.

You should now have the Classic Start Menu.

Not sure what to do–I’m not totally sold on the new menu but not sure whether I’m ready to abandon it for the old look. Thanks for the guide though just in case.
