One of the classic games I used to love playing on the N64 was Golden Eye 007, sadly I have no N64 to play it one any more.

After doing a little research I found a great solution called Wii64 which allows you to load N64 games on the Nintendo Wii.

I will be honest, its not perfect yet but there are loads of games which work just fine, which is good enough for me.

Wii64 has some great features and settings which can be customised and is also fully compatible with a standard Wii remote and nunchuk which means you don’t even need to dig out an old N64 Controller.

Before you even think about setting Wii64 up on your Wii its worth checking out the Compatibility List to see what games will work and which ones still have problems. Please remember that Wii64 is still in beta so there may be bugs.

If you want to give it a go you need the following:

• Nintendo Wii which is Softmodded (if not follow this guide first).
• 512mb SD Card (or Higher).
• Copy of Wii64 – Get latest version here.
• Some N64 Games – Search Google for “N64 Roms”)

How to setup Wii64:

• Extract the Wii64 Files and copy to the SD Card.
• Copy your N64 Rom which you have download to the \wii64\roms folder on the SD Card.
• Insert the SD card into the Wii and Load the Homebrew Channel.
• Load Wii64 from the Homebrew Menu.

You should now be seeing the following screen:

• To load your Game just click on the “Load ROM” button and choose your game.
• All that is left to do is click the “Play Game” button.

As I said its always best to check the compatibility list above before trying to play a game as Wii64 is still beta.
