If you have softmodded your Wii you may be stuck with a Wii Shop Channel that needs to be updated before it will work. The problem with this is that it tells you to run the system update, which as you probably know will remove your softmod and homebrew files. There is a way you can do this manually, which will only update your Shop Channel and not the systems firmware. As far as I am concerned I think it is a total waste of time updating your Nintendo Wii to the 4.3 Firmware if you have softmodded it. The only thing you will gain is support for a USB Camera (for Ubisoft’s Your Shape), the other only reason the 4.3 Firmware exists is to remove Homebrew Applications. Well Nintendo have now released an update for the Nintendo Wii. The New System Menu 4.3 Update is causing all sorts of problems for owners of Softmodded Nintendo Wii’s. As a result of this I recommend you don’t update if you are using any softmods, including the Homebrew Channel as this is removed (if found) every time the Wii is booted.
