HackMii Installer v0.8 and Homebrew Channel v1.0.8 Released – Now with USB 2.0 Support

Just a quick post to you all to let you know that a new version of the HackMii Installer has been released, v0.8 to be exact. This new version now includes the Homebrew Channel v1.0.8 and BootMii beta 6 (v1.3) which is quite a surprise considering that the Homebrew Channel v1.0.7 was only released a few weeks ago. The main reason for the release of the new Homebrew Channel v1.0.8 is the added support for USB 2.0 devices, meaning quicker loading times [...] Read More
GoldenEye 007 Coming to the Nintendo Wii – Video Trailer

GoldenEye 007 Coming to the Nintendo Wii – Video Trailer

Back in the day of the N64 the one game I used to play was GoldenEye 007, I am not saying I was any good at it but I used to love playing it. We will soon be seeing a return of GoldenEye 007 but this time it will be on the Nintendo Wii. This classic game is due to be re-released in November of this year (2010). Some of the features of the new GoldenEye game include Split Screen and Online Multi-Player, 16 different Game Modes including Paintball and [...] Read More
HackMii Installer 0.7 and Homebrew Channel 1.0.7 Released

HackMii Installer 0.7 and Homebrew Channel 1.0.7 Released

Great news for people who updated their Nintendo Wii to System Menu 4.3, a new version of the HackMii Installer has been released which installs the new Homebrew Channel 1.0.7 which is compatible with System Menu 4.3. This is probably what many people have been waiting for. If you are running a System Menu lower than 4.3 there are some great bug fixes and feature changes so its still worth updating to the latest Homebrew Channel. As most of you know [...] Read More
Update The Wii Shop Channel Without Updating Your Wii

Update The Wii Shop Channel Without Updating Your Wii

If you have softmodded your Wii you may be stuck with a Wii Shop Channel that needs to be updated before it will work. The problem with this is that it tells you to run the system update, which as you probably know will remove your softmod and homebrew files. There is a way you can do this manually, which will only update your Shop Channel and not the systems firmware. I have only tried this on 4.2 though so it is up to you if you want to try it on [...] Read More
Nintendo Wii 4.3 Safe Firmware Updater

Nintendo Wii 4.3 Safe Firmware Updater

As far as I am concerned I think it is a total waste of time updating your Nintendo Wii to the 4.3 Firmware if you have softmodded it. The only thing you will gain is support for a USB Camera (for Ubisoft’s Your Shape), the other only reason the 4.3 Firmware exists is to remove Homebrew Applications. But if you still want to update to the 4.3 Firmware it is still possible using Firmware Updater v4.3. Some people like to have the latest firmware [...] Read More
New Nintendo Wii System Menu 4.3 Update

New Nintendo Wii System Menu 4.3 Update

Well Nintendo have now released an update for the Nintendo Wii. The New System Menu 4.3 Update is causing all sorts of problems for owners of Softmodded Nintendo Wii’s. As a result of this I recommend you don’t update if you are using any softmods, including the Homebrew Channel as this is removed (if found) every time the Wii is booted. Until the Homebrew Applications have been updated to work with the New System Menu 4.3 Update there [...] Read More

WAD Manager 1.7 Released

Just a heads up to let everyone know that WAD Manager 1.7 has been released for the Nintendo Wii. It allows the browsing of a storage device to work with the available WAD files in it. Below you will find the changelog for WAD Manager 1.7, a copy of the Release Notes and a Download [...] Read More
Nintendo Wii Homebrew Error Codes

Nintendo Wii Homebrew Error Codes

Modifying your Nintendo Wii should be an easy task, but sadly this is not always the case. Problems occur because of the vast amounts of configurations people are running on their Wii’s. You may have a different firmware (system menu) to someone else, you may have played a game that updated your Wii or it may be that you have previously softmodded your Wii. Whatever the case  you may be confronted with an error code that you know nothing about. [...] Read More
How to Play N64 Games on your Nintendo Wii

How to Play N64 Games on your Nintendo Wii

One of the classic games I used to love playing on the N64 was Golden Eye 007, sadly I have no N64 to play it one any more. After doing a little research I found a great solution called Wii64 which allows you to load N64 games on the Nintendo Wii. I will be honest, its not perfect yet but there are loads of games which work just fine, which is good enough for me. Wii64 has some great features and settings which can be customised and is also fully [...] Read More
