Microsoft yesterday released a major security fix on Windows Update (KB2286198) which effects most their current operating systems.
The update changes the way the operating systems handles shortcuts after a major security flaw was found.
The first attacks via the flaw were aimed at power station control systems, which could of been very interesting if they targeted all the power stations around the world at the same time.

Over the last few days we have seen a beta version of the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1). As you may know the update does not bring any new features to Windows 7, it simply installs previously released security and bug fixes. There has been reports of performance boosts after installing SP1, but I have not witnessed this myself.

Well it seems a Beta Version of the Windows 7 SP1 (Service Pack 1) package has been leaked on to the internet. You can find this latest leak on most of the major BitTorrent sites (sorry cannot provide a link).
The package is only a Beta (test/un-finished version) so it is not recommended that you install it unless you have a test machine you can put it on.
