After purchasing a Topup TV Digital Recorder about 9 months ago, I have been researching my box a little and found out the Hard Drive is simply a normal Maxtor Hard Drive which you can find in most computers. The standard drive in the box was a 160gb drive so this got removed pretty quick and I replaced it with a 250gb Maxtor Hard Drive.
I have also discovered a Secret Engineers Menu. I take it this will be the same for all Topup TV boxes.
You can access the ‘secret’ Engineers menu, by doing the following:
- Press the Menu button
- Select Setup
- Select Help
- Then enter 1397
You can do quite allot in this menu including Formatting your Hard Drive, Forcing a Box Software Update and running Health checks on the Hard Drive.
